You Will Always Be You.

Quote of the Post: “Life is full of black holes. The only person who can pull you out is you.” - Red Band Society.

As an avid viewer of Grey's Anatomy for the past couple of years (sorry! Didn't see it from its inception. Although to be fair, I have watched all seasons and it started when I was around 8 - 9), I found Red Band Society completely incredible. I felt like it was like Grey's Anatomy and yet it was completely different. It was like any other medical-drama except... it wasn't. It finally gives a new perspective on the whole medical-drama scene: the patients. We see glimpses of these patients throughout other shows because they seem so temporary. These patients go and check up what needs to be done and then they leave. Except for the ones who don't. The ones who have problems that have undeterminable and indefinite solutions. We see that there is a whole lot more to their stories that we never realized. We also see something that is truly inspiring because as viewers from the 14+ age group, we can actually relate to the high school patients versus a show that's cast is 25+.
The pilot also showed that it had promise in that it shows high school. It shows the real world. It shows that no matter who we are in our lives and no matter how different we look on the outside. Our problems all end up at the same place. Even if we don't all have cancer or if we don't have organ problems, we are all human and sometimes we forget that. Sometimes we look at these people and see them as just patients or "sick people". We forget that they don't want our pity (unless it's to get something out of us: food, booze, etc.), but rather for us to see them as they are. They show us that we all, as people, just want to be accepted in a place that doesn't mind individuality. I think it not only shows the struggles of high school and illnesses but rather also, the struggles of life itself. I think that we are going to see great things with this show, especially with its amazing cast.
Those are just my thoughts on the pilot! I hope others enjoyed it as much as I did! I definitely recommend it.

Sincerely,
Tiffany
