Pressed Juicery Juice Cleanse

Quote of the post: "It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver" - Mahatma Gandhi.

Hey! So I know I haven't posted in a while but I wanted to talk about this cleanse that I have done recently. If you know of the juice store, Pressed Juicery, you might also know that they offer packages for the juice cleanse. There are multiple locations, but I go to the one in Westwood (in LA) since it is closest to where I live. Last week, for their spring sale, they did 25% off for students, on their cleanses. Normally they do 15% off their juices so you can still get a wicked discount, if you are a student! You just have to bring your student I.D. and you are good to go!
I, personally, did cleanse #2, which is the most popular, and includes 2 greens, 2 citrus, 1 root, and 1 signature blend. Normally it would include 2 cleanse h2os but since I got the student discounted one, it didn't include it. As for which juices I purchased, I got the (1) greens 1.5, (2) roots 2, (3) citrus 1, (4) greens 3, (5) citrus 3, (6) chocolate almond. The numbers are to designate in what order you are supposed to drink them. I chose which ones I wanted but if you don't want to choose, on Pressed Juicery's site, it tells you which juices are included in each of the three cleanses.
The point of the cleanse is just to rid the body of all these toxins and you are supposed to eat a bit lighter the days before to make it easier on you, which I didn't because I did not completely think through my choices the day before. As for the actual cleanse itself, you are supposed to be drinking loads of water whilst doing the cleanse but trying not to eat anything else. Drinking some tea is perfectly fine but nothing more than a couple of slices of apples or cucumbers. More information is on Pressed Juicery's site.
Now for the actual journey. Let me just say, it is not for people who really love eating and are not strong-willed because it was seriously tough. I know that it is helpful to remove the toxins from the body but my golly! It is pretty hard to not eat. It was slightly easier in that my earliest class was at 2 pm so I didn't really get out of bed or start the cleanse until 1 pm. If you start at 1 pm, you can literally just drink a bottle every two hours and you'll be done by 11 pm, which is pretty good. But if you wake up earlier, it all just depends on when you want to finish. You can definitely finish earlier and I'm sure you won't be horrifically hungry, but for a girl who loves her food and did this cleanse for the first time, it was a bit tough.
But overall, I was really disappointed. Some of the juices were pretty good tasting but others fell short. But on the other hand, they won't exactly taste like the best thing in the world, for me personally, but they were good considering they were literally made of only vegetables. I was quite impressed by the taste for the greens and the roots. I expected to have to force them down my throat (which I had to do for some) but didn't have to for all! I do not think that it really helped in terms of trying to make myself healthier. I basically just felt hungry all the time. Luckily, I didn't binge eat after I was done but it didn't exactly help me too much. And, apparently it doesn't have much basis. But then again that non-basis just came from Buzzfeed so who knows? I just personally did not feel much but it may have also been since I didn't like the juices I picked too much. But who knows? Maybe it's better for people who love juice cleanses and are super healthy!
Anyway, that's just my take on this juice cleanse :)

You Will Always Be You.

Quote of the Post: “Life is full of black holes. The only person who can pull you out is you.” - Red Band Society.

As an avid viewer of Grey's Anatomy for the past couple of years (sorry! Didn't see it from its inception. Although to be fair, I have watched all seasons and it started when I was around 8 - 9), I found Red Band Society completely incredible. I felt like it was like Grey's Anatomy and yet it was completely different. It was like any other medical-drama except... it wasn't. It finally gives a new perspective on the whole medical-drama scene: the patients. We see glimpses of these patients throughout other shows because they seem so temporary. These patients go and check up what needs to be done and then they leave. Except for the ones who don't. The ones who have problems that have undeterminable and indefinite solutions. We see that there is a whole lot more to their stories that we never realized. We also see something that is truly inspiring because as viewers from the 14+ age group, we can actually relate to the high school patients versus a show that's cast is 25+.
The pilot also showed that it had promise in that it shows high school. It shows the real world. It shows that no matter who we are in our lives and no matter how different we look on the outside. Our problems all end up at the same place. Even if we don't all have cancer or if we don't have organ problems, we are all human and sometimes we forget that. Sometimes we look at these people and see them as just patients or "sick people". We forget that they don't want our pity (unless it's to get something out of us: food, booze, etc.), but rather for us to see them as they are. They show us that we all, as people, just want to be accepted in a place that doesn't mind individuality. I think it not only shows the struggles of high school and illnesses but rather also, the struggles of life itself. I think that we are going to see great things with this show, especially with its amazing cast.
Those are just my thoughts on the pilot! I hope others enjoyed it as much as I did! I definitely recommend it.

Sincerely,
Tiffany

Why? | Why Not?

After watching this video (shown above) by the FungBros on YouTube, I realized just how much we should all look into the issues of social climate. As an advocate for trying to make the world a better place, especially when it comes to the environment, it spoke to me.

The video redirects to the page: http://www.askwhywhynot.org

It shows a bunch of videos of students aged from 13 to 21 who ask Why? | Why Not? questions about the situation of climate change around the globe. Although the competition to be sent to the UN conference in New York is finished, you can still submit a video to be part of a collaboration video on the situation!

For example, my Why? | Why Not? question starts with why does social media place negligent emphasis on how climate change/global warming is becoming a bigger issue? It seems as if we, as people on this beautiful planet, seem to blame global warming. It is one of the oldest jokes in the book when we think of some important issue but just blame it on global warming. But technically, aren't we blaming ourselves then since we are the reason why it even occurs? In California, we are in a major drought and despite the fact there are laws in place so that we conserve water (ex. we get fined if we are using water, whether it is to water the lawn or washing our cars, and it gets into the street). The fact is is that nobody takes it seriously and our towns seem to act as if they are above it all. In my city, you can constantly see the overuse of water when the city waters the lawn right in front of City Hall. I know we have to keep appearances but why don't we still conserve water while we are at it?
Why not show the children of tomorrow that climate is a big deal while still making it a fun topic for them? The leaders of tomorrow is the next generation so why not show the big issues that will impact everyone? There isn't enough support in the youth of today to make a big impact. The older generations can do as much as they can now but if there is no support system for tomorrow, how can we expect to overturn the problem and continue our current day progress?

If you are also interested in the whole initiative overall and/or do not fall into the age range, there is a website called: The Climate Reality Project. It shows ways to help promote the initiative, donate, and more!
Just some food for thought, especially if you are wondering why it is so hot recently.

Sincerely,
Tiffany

Fresh Start

I have officially decided that I would get back into the blogosphere and recount the places I go, the things I eat, and the items I buy. It might just be a way for me to remember the things that I hold near and dear to me but if I can help anyway find new places or anything, then it will all be worth it!

As for the UCLA logo, I'll also be recounting the tough life of UCLA after school commences in two weeks or so. From funny times to stressful times, they will all be mentioned.

Sorry for not blogging for so long and I wish everyone the best!

Sincerely,
Tiffany

Mystery Seeker

Hey guys! I haven't posted in a really long time and that is partially because of the insane workload that I have at school. Well today I was on MLIA as usual, and I once again come across Mystery Seeker, the website that gives you a mission. Well I finally checked it out today and it told me to:
Your mission is to find the metamorphiction blog and then post a detailed description of anything you want (your favorite food, your closet, someone you know, etc). If you are Canadian, you must do this twice. Just because. Earn your ninjahood. Good luck.
And right now, I am earning my ninjahood. I'm not sure if it just means to post anywhere, but it didn't specify so I am putting it here. Heck yea.
So since I am going to post a detailed description of anything I want, I am going to talk about vitamin water. Recently I have been learning pretty interesting things that I don't think normal people would just happen to find out about this delicious drink. First, it comes from the same brand as smartwater, glaceau. There is a dash thingy above the "e" but I don't know how to put that on. So I though that was pretty interesting. But when you think about it, it is kinda true. You know how vitaminwater has all these funny stories on their bottles, smartwater does too. I think the smartwater ones are all the same but still. The other day, when I was in Latin, my friend had this bottle of smartwater and I decided to read it. I loved the very last sentence. It was something along the lines of "Unfortunately, we can't change the old men in thongs thing." Funny right? Funniest thing about it? My friend didn't know what a thong was. Good times.
Another cool thing about vitaminwater is that they are having a contest right now. If you go onto Facebook and type in "vitaminwater" click like, then look at color collection, you will be amazed. If you are 15 or older and are dying to be a great fashion designer, go check it out! They are having this kind of competition in where you design a shirt based on a certain vitaminwater flavor. Cool huh? I thought so. If you win, your design will be sold alongside other famous designers that made a t-shirt for vitaminwater.
But overall, vitaminwater tastes SOOOOO good! Plus you gotta love the funny stories on the label. I keep the labels that way I can remember all of these terrific stories.
Well that is my detailed description about vitaminwater. Have fun! Bye!

Remember to reduce, reuse, and recycle! :)

6 signs your falling in love

Hey guys! Go ahead you can say I'm being sort of sexist in a way. Sorry it's in inside joke of mine that has something to do with Certamen. If you guys are in Latin you know what that is!! UHUHUHUHUHUHU!!! Well I was on Gmail and on my buzz, I saw something cool they posted. Well this was originally on facebook so I won't be shocked if you already saw this. Sometime I'll post something like this except for the fact that I saw it in a manga so yeah. There isn't much we can do about that. :)
So the thing I saw was "6 signs you are falling in love". And these are the 6 signs:

6. You"ll read their txts over and over again

5. You"ll walk really really slow while youre with them

4. They becomes all you think about

3. You"ll realize that you"re always smiling, when you think about them

2. You"ll do anything for them

1. While reading this, there was one person on your mind the whole time

Well I found the other ones in the manga, that say that you are in love, are:

1. Your chest hurt when you think about this person

2. If this person is happy, then you are also happy.

3. When he smiles, you feel like crying. (<-- that so doesn't make any sense, but its manga...)

4. You distinguish his[or her] voice better than other peoples (it's supposed to be "than other people")

5. You think this person is respectable in many aspects

6. You want to become this person's strength

I don't really think any of these are realistic or even make sense but whatever it was on facebook and in Ouran High School Host Club so I guess some people take it realistically (COUGH COUGH facebook addicts and people that are obsessed with manga COUGH COUGH). So it is a good thing it is still February. Happy Late Valentine's Day. But it is a good thing it isn't. If it was and someone realized they didn't love someone, and they broke up, OOOOOOHHHH!!!! That would be very hurtful. Well I know a story. This one guy that is like BFFs with one of my friends, is broken up with his girlfriend. Well but the thing is is that he still likes her and guess what? He asked her out on his birthday before, like times before. And she said yes (of course) and they went out. So now they are broken up and their  ANNIVERSARY is on his birthday. What a sad thing... Remembered of the pain his ex brought onto him on HIS birthday. Sad. Well let's hope that doesn't happen to anyone else. Just remember, a note to yourself never ask anyone out on their birthday. Well that's it. Hoped you like this post. BYE!!!! (btw I'm studying for biology, I need all the luck I can get, so wish me luck!!! :) and yea I'm so rebellious for typing this while I'm supposed to be doing homework and studying)

PS. remember to reduce, reuse, and recycle!!! (I feel lik a hypocrite when I say that because yesterday my dad was realizing that our blue ink in our printer wasn't working and he had to print 5 sheets of my Latin thing to figure that out. That was just very sad and heart-breaking for me) so save trees!!!!!
